KOBUS AND MARISKA STEYN
RUSTENBURG
Rustenburg couple Kobus & Mariska Steyn, both 30, owned a Marketing & PR Consultancy, and were just five months into their marriage, when they were introduced to the business in April 2004.

“We wanted more out of life than our conventional business could offer. This business changed our lives completely by teaching us to think differently about things. We have learnt to fall in love with the process because the end result is worth it! It has also taught us to make the most of every moment, to dream beyond our limits and to embrace change, as it makes us grow and builds character,” says Mariska, who has qualifications in Fine Art, Communication Design and PR Practice, while Kobus has a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Soon after becoming involved with Amway, Kobus accepted a great Project Management offer at one of the largest Mining Houses in South Africa and Mariska moved her office to their home and for a while continued to do some graphic design and marketing consulting.

“Thanks to this business, I was able to let go of my clients, and started painting again. I also donate my time to CANSA in Rustenburg, as a Project Facilitator. We plan for Kobus to leave the corporate world at age 32,” says Mariska.
“We attribute our success to the amazing system set up by Jim and Nancy Dornan, and of course the amazing team we are so proud to be associated with. We caught the vision that our up-line mentors cast, and decided to follow their lead,” say the Steyns, who have certainly set themselves some huge future goals.

“This is the vehicle we have chosen to create abundant financial freedom, not only for us, but for generations to come,” they say.

ROGAN AND VANU PILLAY
PRETORIA
Pretoria-based surgeon, Rogan Pillay and his entrepreneur wife, Vanu, were looking for an opportunity to fast track retirement and other life options when they were introduced to Amway in June 2007.

Rogan, an Ear, Nose and Throat surgeon in private practise, has a special interest in Head and Neck cancer treatment and is associated with the academic department at the Wits Donald Gordon Medical Centre.
A former school teacher, Vanu now runs a greenhouse horticulture family enterprise.

“We are passionate about what we do in our professions and would like to continue doing this on our own terms. This would require income diversification,” say the Pillays who have three children.

“The Amway business has afforded us the opportunity to achieve this at our own pace, and in addition, allows us to offer the same unique opportunity to others.
“Our success in this business is attributed to the great business system and entrepreneurial environment that we are exposed to.

“We hope to achieve financial freedom for ourselves and for as many people as we have introduced to this business, as we are able to, in the near future,” the Pillays say.

PIETER THERON
NAMIBIA
Namibian lawyer, Petrie Theron, 37, runs his practice from Windhoek and joined the business in October 2004.

“I skeptically investigated it for 10 months before I was convinced to attend a seminar where I was exposed to a broader perspective of the international scope of this business, and specifically, how residual income can change one’s life.

“Being involved in Amway has brought about huge personal and business growth for me. The information I gained through it, now forms an integral part of my life, a gift I’ll always be grateful for.

“Through linking to a proven system, tucking into others in the know, goal setting and embracing the principles of teamwork, I have been able to help others achieve their goals, and thereby my own,” says the father of three boys aged 10, eight and six.

“I see myself heading an international organization, changing the lives of people throughout Africa for the better. To me, success through this business means having the financial resources and an abundance of time to see my children become men and to create unforgettable memories of personal experiences with them,” says Theron.
