Colour
Collection 005 Bricolage
The French term Bricolage, or 'do-it-yourself',
comes from a verb meaning to fiddle or tinker with. In the art world,
Bricolage is the technique of taking influences from other times and
cultures and reassembling them into something entirely new and exciting.
The concept of bricolage was my guide and inspiration in the creation
of Collection 005. This collection of eclectic colours draws on the
many different cultural influences in my life, throws them into the
blender and mixes them all up into new sensory-stirring shades with
eye-opening effects.
Bricolage encourages us to discard preconceived notions of how to
wear colour. It gives us the liberty to re-appropriate colour and
take it in new directions of creative expression.
So as you explore the reinvention of colour and meaning in Collection
005, I ask that you drop all of your pre-existing ideas of what colour
is and how we use it on the face and body. Keep a free and open mind
and discover the limitless possibilities for reinventing ourselves.
Every new encounter, every new day is yet another chance to recreate
ourselves, our persona and inspire those around us to do the same.
