Eat breakfast! Start off your day right. Breakfast jump-starts your metabolism. It can set the way you eat for the rest of the day. Research has shown that people who eat breakfast tend to lose more weight, or maintain a healthier weight, than those who don't.

Balance your food choices. Mix it up. Don't put all starches on your plate, and don't choose all protein foods. Add sides to your plate, such as vegetables and fruit salads. Generally, the brighter the colors of the fruits and vegetables, the more vitamins and minerals you'll be getting.

Get moving! Park your car farther away, take the stairs instead of the elevator. Every extra step you take is an improvement to your health. A little may add up to a lot. Periodic 10-minute bouts of exercise can be as effective as one 30-minute bout.

Pick foods you enjoy. Most people make the mistake in thinking that eating healthy, means eating bland, boring foods. Make low-fat, healthy choices tasty so that you enjoy eating healthy. Look on the Internet for healthy, low fat recipes. Be creative in adding flavor to foods without adding lots of calories.

Choose exercises you enjoy. Exercising should not be torture. Exercising is a good stress that plays a number of roles in making you look and feel better. If you like to bike, then bike; if you like sports, then play sports. Choose recreational activities that you'll enjoy, so that you'll stick to it.

De-Stress your life. Stress can play a number of roles with weight loss and overall health. Stress can directly impact not only the foods you choose but also how well your body digests food. Find simple ways to take away from stress and add some fun to your busy life.

Choose healthy snacks to fit in between meals. Research shows that healthy snacking between meals is a good way to control appetite and lose weight. Incorporating a piece of fruit, or a glass of milk, etc., is a good way to get good nutrient intake without overeating at one meal.

Drink plenty of H2O! Research has shown that getting enough water is not only good for your health, but it promotes weight loss. Water can help aid the body in fat metabolism along with helping you to feel more full.
