MALANGO AND ANNIE SOMWE
TRAUMA SURGEON AND ENTREPRENEUR
(JOHANNESBURG)

Martin and Felicity joined the Amway business seven years ago, because they wanted a consistent income that the building industry would not allow them. They realised that their chosen career paths would not allow them financial freedom either.

At first, Felicity was not enthusiastic about the opportunity, and could not understand why Martin would want to pursue a new business. The continuous education programmes and seminars, which teach personal growth, changed her perspective.

Reaching the Platinum level is a stepping stone to freedom for them. Felicity has given up her business and is currently consulting on a part-time basis.

To improve the quality of their lives, the couple decided to work from home. This was a very important step for them, as they have five children (aged between five and nineteen years), four of whom are living with them. Their children have always been their biggest motivation for building (and making a success of) their business. They always encourage their children to set goals for themselves and follow their dreams.

For Martin and Felicity, Amway has become a way of life. During the past seven years, they have experienced personal growth and development, built fantastic relationships, and also helped other people to reach their goals.

Malango and Annie joined the Amway business in November 2006, but became actively involved in February 2007. Annie was introduced to the Amway business opportunity by a friend who is a single mom. By joining, Annie thought that she would help her friend to achieve her goal. However, she soon discovered that the Amway business is a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Malango and Annie were successful in their respective careers, which gave them a stable, active income. However, after reading Robert Kiyosaki's bestseller book, Rich Dad, Poor Dad, they realised that their future was not financially secure, because they did not have a residual income.

They therefore decided to start a business that would give them a supplementary income. They first ventured into the property market, but soon found out that properties require constant maintenance and administration. After researching the Amway business, they realised that it would yield more profit than property, in less time and with almost no capital involved.

At this point, the couple decided to put their best effort into the business. Since then, they have never looked back. Achieving the Platinum level has given them the confidence to expand their business activities, and they are now looking forward to reaching their Emerald qualification by early next year.
