OCCASION
When establishing the appropriate look for the right occasion, it
is important to take into account where you will be and what you will
be doing.
Office
At the office, it is important to be "make-up appropriate."
A modern look works best at the office. A clean, crisp look says volumes
about confidence without making any specific statements about your
mood
Time of Day
Time of day is also an important factor when determining a look. Take
into consideration what type of lighting conditions there may be.
During the day you would wear less make-up than you would in the evening.
A Retro or Smoky Eye look would reflect an entirely different mood
and effect when worn at night.
Outdoor Venues
For outdoor venues, a natural or sun-kissed look works well. |

EYE
COLOUR
When choosing eye colour shades, keep in mind the following tips:
Dark colours deepen while light colours bring attention to features.
Do not be intimidated by eye colours, as bold as they may appear in
the palette. Always experiment with them first, for they always look
darker and brighter in the palettes than they will on your skin.
It is not necessary to wear eye shades that match your eye colour.
But wearing colours that accentuate your colouring will bring added
attention to the natural beauty of your eyes.
- Blue eyes look great with warm tones, golds, browns and peaches.
- Green eyes look great when complemented with shades which have yellow
under tones, like khakis and browns. Purple is also a great colour
for green eyes.
- Brown eyes can wear almost any colour, but shades of navy,
charcoal and brown look especially nice.

The
Natural Eye look is a quick and easy approach to beauty.
Use peach, pink and gold tones or any colour that will
enhance your natural skin tone.
|
 |
 |
 |
 |
| |
Step
1 |
|
Begin
by sweeping a light wash of colour over the entire lid
using the natural tone noted above. The trick is to look
natural without looking washed out.

2 |
|
Begin
by sweeping a light wash of colour over the entire lid
using the natural tone noted above. The trick is to look
natural without looking washed out.
|
| |
Step
2 |
|
Apply
mascara to top and bottom lashes using the back and forth
technique.
|
| |
Choosing
rose, bronze or pale pink shades can help achieve a dappled
sun look.
|
| |
Step
1 |
|
Lightly
brush colour across both cheeks and apply high on the
temple and forehead for sheer application.
|
| |
Step
2 |
|
Finish
with a soft application to the jawline and chin.
|
| |
For
a more dramatic, evening look, choose slightly deeper
tones based on your underlying skin tone.
|
| |
Step
1 |
|
Begin
by placing brush high on the cheekbone. Blend up and around
in a 'C' shape motion on the temple. This gives
a very glamorous effect by adding dimension and colour. |
| |
|
|
|
| |
|
|
|
|
The
Smoky Eye look is perhaps the most recognisable and wearable
of all eye looks. The "sultry" effect associated
with the Smoky Eye look is achieved by applying dark-toned
shades to the lid. Dark navy, dark greens, dark browns
and dark purples are all perfect tones for achieving this
look.
|
 |
 |
 |
 |
| |
Step
1 |
|
Starting
from the inner corner of the eye, apply your dark shadow
across the lid, keeping concentration of colour as close
to the lash line as possible.
|
| |
Step
2 |
|
After
colour has been applied, blend the colour gently up and
into the crease. Use care to leave the concentration of
colour near the lash line. This concentration of colour
is key to achieving the Smoky Eye Look. This process should
be repeated on the lower lid.
|
| |
Step
3 |
|
For
added dimension, apply ARTISTRY™ Eye Define pencil
to top and bottom of lash line. Blend to soften line using
a sponge applicator. Blending is also a key component
to achieving the smoky, sultry effect of the look.
|
| |
Step
4 |
|
To
add more drama, apply a lighter eye colour to the brow
bone. Try a textured shadow with shimmer for optimum effect.
|
| |
Step
5 |
|
Apply
mascara to top and bottom lashes using the back and forth
technique. |
| |
Step
6 |
|
Finish
by using an eye liner pencil to rim the inside of your
eyes. |

PRO
TIPS
To Keep Eye Make-up From Disappearing
Before adding eye colour, prime your eyelids with a dab of foundation
or loose translucent powder. This helps to brighten colour but
also covers any blood vessels that may be visible through the
delicate skin of your upper lids.
How Much Make-up Is Enough?
When it comes to wondering how much make-up is enough, one simple
rule of thumb is to never have more shadow on the lower lid
than you do on the top. Always apply eye colour to your upper
lid first.
Precision Cheek Colour Application
When applying cheek colour, use the flat side of the brush bristles
instead of the tips. This technique gives you more control and
allows you to carefully, gradually build up your colour.
To avoid patchy, uneven blush application, first set your skin
with a translucent powder.
