Tony
and Janet Davis
began their Amway business in October 2001after receiving a tape from
a fellow-parent at their children's school. As a result of a previous bad experience with network
marketing, they initially had no intention of joining the Amway family, but after receiving more
and more tapes, they soon realised the value of the opportunity. Tony and Janet first heard about DOUBLE X™ at the Leadership Training Seminar in Mauritius in 2006. Dirk
and Caron van der Mescht
started their Amway business in the UK in September 2005 and
then relocated to South Africa in January 2006. Whilst in the UK, they were already taking DOUBLE X™ and at that stage it consisted of two tablets. Higher energy levels coupled with an improved immune system were just some of the personal product advantages that Dirk experienced. When they came to South Africa, the product wasn't yet available. Dirk and Caron were really excited when they heard that it was going to be launched in SA, in a new formulation too! Because Dirk was brought up in an environment where tithing played an important role, he immediately started looking for a charity that he could support in SA. The Missionvale Care Centre on the outskirts of Port Elizabeth was just launching a support group for AIDS victims and a supplementation programme to help boost the immune systems of AIDS patients. Dirk met with Sister Ethel Normoyle in May 2006 and offered to support her supplementation programme. At this stage, he realised the need to build a substantial Amway business first in order to ensure sustainability. He set himself targets and his business began supporting four people on a monthly basis with DOUBLE X™. From September onwards and as his team grows, Dirk would like to help eight people each month. The leaders in his team are just as excited about supporting this initiative and they in turn are looking forward to joining the programme once they have grown their businesses too.
