Dirk & Bets Janse van Vuuren
Small Business Owner and Teacher Krugersdorp |
|
The possibility of gaining more leisure time
and travelling abroad were two factors that
motivated Dirk and Bets to join the Amway
business in May 2006. The couple already
had two successful businesses: a coffee
shop/restaurant and a lifestyle improvement
business. However, they had very little time
for themselves (or their family), as they
always had to focus on their clients' needs.
They started looking for another business
opportunity, one that would give them
financial freedom and more free time. They
found the perfect business opportunity in
Amway.
Two years later, having reached Platinum,
Dirk and Bets are even more focused and
motivated to live their dreams. They also
want to help their teams to reach their goals,
so that they can also experience the fun and
rewards.
This family of high achievers is also very
serious about sport. Dirk and Bets - and
their four children - all participated at
the highest level. (Bets achieved national
colours.) According to Dirk and Bets, sport
taught them the principles of dedication,
integrity and team work. (These principles
also form the foundation of their Amway
business.)
Their big dream for their children was to lead
them to make the right choices in life - and
seeing that they are all IBOs in their business,
they know that they have succeeded!

 Oscar & Estella Mackay
Plumber & Retired School Teacher Kuils River, Cape Town |
|
Tradesmen, like plumbers, often have no
pension or retirement income. Financial
independence and recurring income
therefore attracted Oscar and Estella to the
Amway business.
At first, it was quite a challenge for them to
make a success of their new venture. They
had to learn the skills of networking, which
both plumbers and teachers are not taught,
and they had to overcome negativity - in
themselves and in others.
Oscar explains that there are many
similarities between his work as a tradesman
and his work as an IBO. His perspective, as a
tradesman in this business, is that you serve
an apprenticeship by learning the basics. In
the Amway business, however, there is no
trade test. Everybody passes, as long as you
don't quit. You just need determination and
commitment to reach for your dreams. The
reward is permanent wealth.
Now that they have reached Platinum, Oscar
and Estella are hoping to achieve the Emerald
level within the next year. With the support
of their family - and their Amway team - they feel confident that they can achieve
their next goal. They say that their daughters
are their biggest cheerleaders!
