Michelle Ashen from Amway gets a chance to tell actor
Carl Beukes (Paul in Isisdingo) about Amway South Africa.

One day you're
a business owner; the next day ... you are a business owner able to retail
products that have defined the country's hottest looks for what promises
to be another HOT season in southern Africa!
Amway South Africa was
the exclusive Cosmetics Partner for South Africa's Cape Town and Johannesburg
Fashion Week in August 2007. It was an exciting event that brought
about an increased awareness of the Amway Business Opportunity and
high-quality products.
Celebrities, models, professionals and make-up
artists alike were asking one question: Where do I sign up? This event
has helped establish Amway as not only the best business opportunity
in the world, but the coolest!
For the leaders who attended, it was
an opportunity to showcase the Amway brand and products within leading
industries in southern Africa. Amway is proud to align itself with
leading professionals within the beauty industry and is exploring
exciting new avenues to bring this event closer to each of our many
business owners.
Amway South Africa partnered with African Fashion
International to create the cosmetic fashion looks for the season,
collaborating with fashion designers throughout the country to present
the Spring/Summer Looks 07/08.
ARTISTRY™ and E.FUNKHOUSER™ NEW YORK
were the official cosmetic brands of choice used by all the make-up
artists from the Shine Group throughout the fashion week extravaganza.
African Fashion International (AFI) founded, owns and operates Africa's
most recognised and respected Fashion Weeks (such as Cape Town Fashion
Week and Jo'burg Fashion Week) and fashionrelated strategic marketing
initiatives. AFI's mission is to improve the quality of design output
from South Africa, to strengthen South African brands, both within
South Africa and on the African continent, and to promote South African
designers at major international sales and marketing platforms
AFI is headed by Chairperson, Dr. Precious Moloi-Motsepe, a well respected
philanthropist and business woman who is passionate about the development
of South African designers and the future prosperity of the South African fashion
industry.
Premier South African fashion showcase, Cape Town Fashion Week, celebrated its
landmark fifth Spring/Summer collections from the 8th–11th August 2007, at the
Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC). The event was held for the
first time in association with the newly formed Cape Town Fashion Council and
with the support of both the Provincial Government of the Western Cape and the
City of Cape Town.
Owned and presented by African Fashion International (AFI), Cape Town Fashion
Week has quickly become a powerful champion of South African fashion, providing
a world-class platform to introduce new seasonal collections to buyers, media
and the public. Cape Town's long heritage as the centre of SA's fashion industry,
combined with a growing international reputation as a unique style destination,
has played a key part in the growth of one of the continent's most respected
fashion events.
Leading South African designers at Cape Town Fashion Week included Gideon,
Kluk CGdT, Gavin Rajah, Habits by Jenny Le Roux, Rosenwerth by Gabi Rosenwerth,
Maya Prass, Hip Hop by Cheryl Arthur, Port by Craig Port and Fred Eboka amongst
many others. To add international flavour, Cape Town Fashion Week previewed
Emanuel Ungaro's latest and sexiest collection to fashionistas.
'At African Fashion International (AFI) we pride ourselves on presenting many of
South Africa's most respected fashion designers. Joburg Fashion Week provides a
world-class stage from which our leading designers can conduct business and
show the world their unique African designs. We believe this new event will help
position local designers to compete more effectively in what is an increasingly
fast moving and global marketplace. The leadership of our best designers will
ultimately inspire other designers and add further fuel to our creative economy,'
said Dr Precious Moloi-Motsepe.
We will be creating a website to show you the season's hottest looks using
E.FUNKHOUSER™NEW YORK at this year's Fashion Week in Cape Town and Joburg
